Play-Dogs lists places for walking, beaches, gardens and dog parks, restaurants, accommodation and even dog friendly activities!
📲 The first step is to download the application on the Play Store or on the App Store!
To find a walk with your dog, open the app on your smartphone. Discover the home page !
The home screen offers you by default a selection of walks in your area geographic, based on your GPS position.
You can:
- Select types of dog friendly places: walks, parks, beaches, activities, accommodation, users.
- Show recommended, popular, new or nearby places!
- Add location;
- Add an event;
- Find a location.

How do I access the search for dog friendly places?
- 🗺️ Click on the green “map” button at the bottom middle of the screen.
- 👉 Choose the types of places you are looking for: walks, beaches, parks... They are selected when they are colorful.
- 📲 Move around the map to view locations!
- 📍 Tap an icon to display the essential information sign.
- 📖 Click on the sign to open the dog friendly place

🐶 Add a ride on Play-Dogs
From the home page of the application click on the green button “Add a place”.
You have 3 choices to create a walking route:
- GPS;
- 👉 By hand;
- 📲 GPX file.

Once you have created your itinerary, all you have to do is fill in the information for your walk:
- Name of the walk;
- Description of the walk;
- Duration;
- Pictures;
- Activity practiced (walking, canitrail, canicross, mountain biking…);
- Frequentation;
- Water points;
- Useful information…
🤩 Don't hesitate to give as much information as possible to help the Play-Dogers community!
Add a walk with the GPS
Start by clicking on the “GPS” icon to start adding your ride.
A message is displayed: “Start the walk with the dog attached or unattached?”. Select the answer appropriate to your walk: “Detached” or “Attached”.

All you have to do is start your walk with your dog!
Click on the ▶️ icon: the GPS will automatically plot your route.
Use the orange button in the middle to:
- ⏸ Pause;
- ⏹ Stop the ride;
- 🚮 Delete route.
During your walk with your dog, use the functions, from left to right:
- Follow the elevation indications;
- Indicate whether the dog can or must be attached or detached;
- Add photographs;
- Insert points of interest: car park, danger, water point, restaurant...

Add a ride in the hand
Want to add a ride from your couch? It's possible ! You can create a route manually on the Play-Dogs app.
👉 You click on the icon “By hand” then a message is displayed: “Start the walk with the dog attached or unattached?”. Select the appropriate answer for your walk: “Detached” or “Attached”.
📌 To create the route of your walk, it's very simple:
- Moves and positions the blue marker on the starting point;
- Click on the black “+” icon to add a GPS point;
- Click on the green icon at the bottom left to create the path between the two markers.

🤔 If you have any doubts, click on the blue “❔" icon at the bottom left to display the full tutorial.
The dog icon allows you to indicate whether the dog can be unleashed or whether it must be kept on a leash:
- Green dog = detached dog;
- Orange dog = dog on leash.
To finish creating your ride, use the ✔ icon at the bottom right.
Import a GPX file
Even easier to add a new ride in the Play-Dogs application: the GPX file.
All you have to do is select the “GPX File” option, then upload the file from your smartphone!
🌳 Add a park
From the homepage, click on the green “Add a place” button. Choose the “Parks” option to add a dog park or a garden authorized for dogs!

✍ All you have to do is fill in the park sheet:
- Location: precise GPS point to indicate the location;
- Park name;
- Description;
- Access: free or paid;
- Pictures;
- Leash: dog attached or detached;
- Frequentation;
- Accessibility;
- Water point;
- Useful information…
📲 Give as many pointers as possible to help other dog owners in the search for the ideal place for their dog!
Finally, click on the “Publish” button at the top right to share your find with the whole community. Play-Dogs community!
⛱️ Add a range
The most popular dog-friendly place during the summer: the beach for dogs!
If you know of a dog friendly beach to share with the community, we would all like you grateful
From the home page, click on the green “add a place” button. Select the yellow “Beach” icon to add a dog-friendly range.

You must now complete the form:
- Location: choose the GPS point of your location;
- Name of the track;
- Description;
- Access: free or paid;
- Pictures;
- Leash: attached or detached;
- Frequentation;
- Useful information…
🚩 Last step: click on the “Publish” button at the top right to share your find with everyone. Play-Dogs community!
🏃♂️ Add an activity with his dog
If you want to share activities where dogs are allowed, Play-Dogs suggest you create dog friendly points of interest:
- 🎟️ Visit: museum, cave, castle, other…
- 🍽️Restaurant or bar.
- 🐕 Sport: agility, golf, nautical, dancing, skiing, others…
From the home page, choose “add a place” then select: visit, restaurant/bar, or sport.

- Add a dog friendly tour
If you have discovered a tour where dogs are accepted, share this information quickly with the Play-dogers!
To add a dog friendly visit, simply fill in the form:
- Type of visit: museum, cave, castle, other;
- Location: GPS point on the map;
- Name of activity;
- Description;
- Pictures;
- Contacts;
- Price;
- Information.
As far as possible, add as much information about the place: number of dogs accepted, size of the dog, category dog…
And if you are the owner of the place, you can indicate it 🤗!

Add a restaurant or bar
👌 Fill in the dog friendly restaurant sheet to inform the community:
📲 Add as much detail as possible to give the necessary indications to other owners of dog.
Add a dog sport
If you know a cool activity to do with your dog, then come and share it on the app!
⛳ What canine activities to add? Agility, golf, nautical activity, dancing, skiing or other… All the dog friendly activities are welcome!
All you have to do is fill in the form:
⭐ Specify if you are the owner of the proposed activity to better inform the Play-dogers!
The Dangers: how does it work? ⚠️
Patous, herds, cyanobacteria, processionary caterpillars... There are many threats to your dog! So to avoid them, Play-Dogs has developed a feature that allows you to identify all the dangers!
🔎 Display the dangers on the application Play-Dogs
Before going for a walk, log on to the Play-Dogs application to view the potential dangers on your route.
🤔 How to do?
- Open the application;
- Click on the “map” icon at the bottom, center of the page;
- Find your ride location on the map.
👉 Dangers are easy to spot. They are displayed by a grey icon which contains a danger sign ⚠️
Simply click on the gray icon to display the hazard:
- 🐛 Processionary caterpillars;
- Cyanobacteria;
- 🐕Patous;
- 🐑 Herds;
- Hunting area;
- 🕳️ Chasm or cliff;
- 💡 Other.

➕ Add a hazard: warn the community
Do you want to warn the Play-Dogs community of a danger? If you spot a difficulty or problem in walk with your dog, add the danger on the application!
- Open the Play-Dogs app;
- Click on the “add a place” button on the home page;
- Select “Dangers”;
- Choose the type of hazard.

📌 All you have to do is fill in all the useful and necessary information to prevent the danger for your dog.
- Zone: for each type of danger, you must define a geographical zone. Draw with your finger on the relevant space on the map.
- Title, description, risksand behaviour: these fields are already pre-populated. You are free to complete them or to modify.
- Reaction : if you can, give information on the problem encountered, and how get nearby help.
- Dangerosity: indicates the level of danger, minor, moderate, considerable, high, or mortal.
- Calendar: specifies whether this danger is permanent or if it is periodic (dates).
- Pictures: illustrates the problem with pictures to help play-dogers.
Finally, click on “Publish”: at the very bottom, or at the top right, to share your danger!
